From big dreams to simple beginnings and beyond…

We like to think of The StoryRock Farm Store as a beloved “Third Place”.

Ray Oldenburg (1989) identifies the “Third Place” as an important anchor of community life. An anchor that facilitates creative interaction and serves to nourish and regenerate not only the participating individuals but also the surrounding environment.

Third Places serve as neutral hubs of collaboration and collective endeavor. Establishing a sense of “home away from home” and encouraging the experience of rootedness and sense of place that allows for not only physical and mental well-being but also the well-being of spirit and soul.

We started out as a big idea and a simple bake stand under a blue awning in our front yard. In the summer of 2020, Sweet Pea Kitchen, began its mission to brighten the world through food. Committed to traditional, local, delicious, nourishing, and best of all, whimsical, we baked and brewed our way to making our dreams come true.

And oh how we've grown...

From a simple blue awning situated on 1/4 acre of land to a beautiful post and beam barn situated on 10 acres of land, we are still baking, brewing, making, creating, crafting, dreaming, and holding the vision of 'heart'.

Food Hub

As a food hub, our shelves are lined with herbs and spices for unique blends to nourish the body, mind, and spirit. We have freshly roasted coffee on hand (roasted in-house) and baked/prepared foods and items from The Sweet Pea Kitchen and Magical Medicinals. We like to support the activities of local growing and production of healthful and nourishing foods and have fresh flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables whenever possible.

We have a dream of connecting with the creative community that surrounds us. We know there are artisans, crafters, creators, musicians, makers, throughout the community and we are excited to gather and share and create together when possible.

This feels especially important during our current times, as we are in need of physical distancing and other necessary precautions in public locations.  So let's make soulful connections instead.
